Sharing my story from the refugee camp wasn’t easy.

Sharing my story from the refugee camp wasn’t easy.

It meant confronting memories I’d rather leave behind.

But here’s the truth: vulnerability isn’t a weakness—it’s a superpower.

As an author, your vulnerability is your greatest asset.

It’s not just about the polished success story—people crave the raw, the real, the unfiltered truth.

Readers and clients don't want to just see your expertise; they want to feel your journey.

They want to know what you’ve overcome, how you’ve grown, and where you’ve stumbled.

Here’s a hard truth: Perfection is boring. Humanity is magnetic.

The next time you post or promote your book, let your guard down.

Share a failure, a moment where you almost gave up.

Show them the messy middle, not just the highlight reel.

That’s the secret to connection.

Your vulnerability isn’t what holds you back—it’s what makes you unforgettable.

My oldest brother, pictured here put the whole fam on his back and did damn near heroic sh#t to protect the family.

He and my siblings made the mud bricks that protected us from the desert elements in our "tent home."

He stayed up all night damn near every night with a bat to protect my family.

He was 17 at the time and was on his way to acting school just a few months away from perusing his dream, before the war broke out in 1990.

Blessed to have real ones in my pack, I owe my siblings more than I can ever repay.
