A few months ago, I launched a test service called Author X.

The concept was ambitious: a TEDx-style event where authors could give talks, get professional photos and videos, and boost their online credibility.

I spent months developing it, posting and connecting to gauge interest.

My friend Nick joined, providing an incredible space, and together we mapped out ways to make it special.

The response was positive—but the timing was off.

Authors needed more time to prepare and schedule.

What I learned:
Testing out loud gives invaluable feedback.

Timing isn't just logistics; it’s about allowing people the space to fully show up.

Excitement doesn’t always mean immediate success.

Experimenting is what keeps creativity moving forward for me.

I’m rethinking Author X with these insights in mind.
