Embracing Consistency: The Power of Boring Work in the Author's Journey

No one wants to do the boring work.

I also didn’t want to do it.

That’s where consistency lives.

After a short while most things get boring and that’s where most authors stop doing things that matter to the journey.

I used to want to know the return on investment before I begin anything.

I didn’t take the actions to make the investment and see the value on the return.

The boring work is what I’ve embraced over time.

It’s a long game, a very long game.

The boring work is essential to the author journey.

The point is to stay in the game, not just play.

Keep going, you’re doing great, one day at a time!

Here’s a snap shot of before and after leaning into the “boring” work. I turned it into my fun work.

That’s the difference in the graph.
