AI Isn’t the Problem. Your Leadership System Is.
AI leadership, AI adoption, future of work, human-AI collaboration, AI agents, team performance, and leadership systems are changing how organizations work.
In this new episode of Rising Authors Experience, I sat down with my dear friend, Greg Giuliano, to talk about something I think a lot of leaders are getting wrong about AI.
We keep treating AI like a technology problem.
Get the tool. Train the team. Automate some tasks. Become more productive.
But Greg makes a compelling argument that AI is actually exposing something much deeper:
How well does your organization already work?
Because if there is no clarity, no trust, poor delegation, bad communication, and every decision still has to flow through the leader, AI doesn’t magically fix that.
It can amplify it.
Greg has spent more than 20 years working with executives and teams, and his new book, Ultra Leadership 2.0: An OS for the Age of AI (https://www.greggiuliano.com/ultra-leadership-2), is built around this exact challenge.
We get into why so many companies struggle with AI adoption, why leaders accidentally become bottlenecks, and what happens when you stop solving every problem for your team and start creating the conditions for them to solve problems themselves.
One of my favorite parts of this conversation was hearing how Greg coached an executive who wanted her team to execute faster.
Instead of telling everyone to work harder, they changed the system.
More clarity. Better decision rights.
Clear 90-day action plans. Better workflows between humans and AI.
And within six months, the team was moving faster because the leader had learned how to step out of the way.
That hit home for me.
Greg has influenced the way I lead my own team.
I’ve learned that I do not need to be the best designer, cameraman, marketer, or problem-solver in every room.
My job is to build the conditions where talented people can do their best work.
We also talk about delegation, control, coaching, accountability, why the best coaches still have coaches, and one question I really wanted Greg’s perspective on:
Can AI ever replace a human coach?
AI is going to change the way we work.
But the bigger opportunity may be changing the way we lead.
